I had never heard of hygee and was curious about it when I saw there were a few books dedicated to it recommended for me. I chose this book to introduce me to the concept. Edberg separated the book into sections: defining, setting foundations, explaining how to live hygge, and how it can make you better and happier.
I enjoyed the introduction to hygge. As the author explains it, it is similar to minimalism, but a step further. You own less material possessions, and are more connected with your inner-self. It is a way of life, not just getting rid of items but surrounding yourself with things that fill you with joy and make life “cozy”.
If this interests you, I suggest you read the book. The author writes in a manner that is down-to-earth and in a style I would expect to see in a blog. I liked that as it seemed like she was talking directly to me. Plus, it is a very quick read–it took me less than an hour. I will be revisiting the book to try and implement some of the suggestions of living hygge in my life.
