Silenced is the second of a mystery novel series, which I was unaware of at the time of purchase. It being the second didn’t throw things off too much though, the characters were still relatable and the storyline was standalone to this book.
This book felt like a puzzle almost… Many separate mysteries that all seem to thread together in the end. I could take guesses here and there but I was definitely not correct in the guesses I made! The ending was something I could not have predicted, which is something I like.
The book itself seemed a little slower than what I am used to reading. It also jumped around a lot, so it could get a little confusing. I couldn’t keep all of the characters quite straight either because there seemed to be so many interlaced in the mystery. That could also be part of the fact that it was a second book in a series, I’m not positive.
It was a good read for sure, but not something I would read again. I give it a 3/5! I can’t help but wonder what my rating would have been if I had read the first book in the series.
